KSTC Funding
The Kentucky Enterprise Fund, Rural Innovation Fund and Kentucky New Energy Ventures Fund are a series of seed stage capital funds that focus on the early stage commercialization of a technology-based product or process. By encouraging the commercialization of innovative ideas, these funds foster competitive, profitable companies that create high paying jobs and wealth in Kentucky. The funds are managed by the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation (KSTC).
These funds require that your company establish itself as a Kentucky-based organization, at least 50% of property and payroll in state. All money is to be matched 1:1 by either cash, in-kind services, or qualified investment. Companies can receive only one grant and funding received beyond this grant may require a payback including previous grant funding. To be eligible for investment level funds a company needs to organize as a C-Corp or LLC. The company retains ownership their technology. All applications must be approved by the ezone prior to submission.
