Covington, KY 5/1/2008
Ty’s Toy Box, LLC (www.TysToyBox.com) continues to grow and expand its operations in Northern Kentucky, further enhancing the company’s position as the leading online destination for licensed character merchandise.
“We are excited about the new opportunities that our growth has created,” said Ty Simpson, chief executive officer of Ty’s Toy Box. “We appreciate the support and partnership we have received from KEDFA, Northern Kentucky Tri-ED and the City of Florence and look forward to continuing our growth in the region.”
Ty’s Toy Box is expanding into 32,118 square feet of existing space at its location at 7115 Industrial Road in Florence, Ky. When complete, the company will operate from 64,000 square feet of operational space. Ty’s Toy Box was approved for $420,000 from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority as part of the Kentucky Jobs Development Act (KJDA) program. The company estimates that 21 new full-time jobs will be created at the expanded facility. “The workforce, our current location and the transportation infrastructure in Northern Kentucky have been integral to our growth and this expansion,” said Simpson.
Ty’s Toy Box recently announced a merger with All Aboard Toys, LLC, (www.AllAboardToys.com) of Denver, Colorado, creating the largest independent toy destination for licensed character merchandise available online. The companies will maintain their established business operations while taking advantage of each other’s unique strengths to grow and expand the combined entity.
“We are open for business in Florence and Ty’s Toy Box is an innovative, exciting company to watch,” said Diane Whalen, Mayor, City of Florence. “Ty’s couples its distribution needs with high tech talent as it blazes new trails as an e-tailer of licensed character brands.”
The company previously worked with the Northern Kentucky Ezone during its start-up phase to review business plans and investigate possible grant opportunities. The Ezone, a division of Northern Kentucky Tri-ED provides a support program for businesses ranging from start up entrepreneurs to established companies commercializing a new product, technology or process. Tri-ED worked with the company, City of Florence and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development (KCED) to secure the KJDA incentive.
“It is gratifying to see a company progress through a relationship as a start-up business at the Northern Kentucky Ezone to successfully receiving support from the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the local community based on job creation for Kentucky based residents,” said Steve Pendery, Chairman Northern Kentucky Tri-ED and Campbell County Judge Executive. “Northern Kentucky Tri-ED continues to focus on the creation of primary jobs for our area and the development of our existing industry base is extremely important to this effort and its results. We appreciate Ty’s Toy Box commitment to Northern Kentucky.”
